Twitter: For the case, many social networking platforms, faces forever to the load that is not doing a lot to carve the flow of misinformation in its network.
Previous Twitter attempts to lose in false news through features such as Birdwatch still work in progress. Now, in continuous, Twitter is allowing small groups in the US. UU., Australia and South Korea report tweets on the social networking platform that contain erroneous information.
Missinfo can be marked under specific classifications
Now a clickable option will appear for selected users when they seek to report problematic Tweet. The three gray spots can be accessed on the right side of a tweet. After clicking on that, the people who are part of the test group will see an option to inform the tweet as deceptive. Twitter did not say how many users will have access to this function.
But the limited test may not lead to any direct action on the tweets marked by users.
Twitter said he is evaluating if this is an “effective approach”.
“We can not take action and we can not respond to each report in the experiment, but its contribution will help us identify trends so that we can improve the speed and scale of our broader misinformation,” Twitter said in a Tweet.
Interestingly, Twitter is giving the option as to the classification that the chosen Tweet is deceptive. Users can mark the contentious tweet under ‘politics’, ‘health’ or ‘something more’.
For registration, Facebook also allows users to report false information related to health, politics or social problems.
Apparently, Twitter is concerned about the fact that this “misinfo tray” feature can be poorly used by the created interests that they want to cut the opinion contrary to their own. Therefore, Twitter is testing its effectiveness and retaining your response to marked tweets, therefore.
Twitter has also put other tools in an attempt to help users discern what information on their platform is inaccurate.
