At present, the MMO scene feels very robust, especially for a kind that seemed like it was on the path of the trail a little time ago. There is always the world of World of Warcraft in its two flavors of retail and classic. In addition, the new world is (probably) at the end of September and lost Ark who finally went to the west, this fall – strange – in Amazon, even if he has his own internal mmo to focus . However, perhaps the most remarkable MMO right now is Final Fantasy XIV Online.
There is a lot of luggage in this phrase that I just typed. There seems to be a lot of disgust for World of Warcraft, not only because of the direction of the game in general, but also because of shocking allegations on sexual abuse against Blizzard in recent months. But, whatever the reason, there are many people ready to put in the world of World of Warcraft – at least temporarily – and see what else is there.
I am one of these people. Two years ago, I wrote an article with a very similar title about this on all my delightful addiction to the world of Warcraft. I wrote this article shortly after the world exit of World of Warcraft, and there is no doubt that it quickly had its hooks in me. Thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, played a classic wow for only about a year, possibly calling it that it leaves a few weeks after AQ40 has been added to the game. Grinding to be in a semi raid guild -Hardcore arrived at me and I quickly became burned.
When I left Wow Classic, I had any intention to come back to the launch of the crusade crusade (which had not been confirmed at this stage, but was nevertheless a lost conclusion). I even told my guild that I would be back for TBC Classic, because for me, it was the wow peak. My determination to go back to the game diminished a little when I saw that Blizzard launched a paid cloning service for the burning crusade, because, to be honest, it’s one of the most stupid play purchases that I ‘ have never been confronted.
It took another success when I heard the rumors that Blizzard was considering bringing the Wow token to TBC Classic, and what remained of my desire to return any right of disappeared when these allegations of sexual violence surfaced. I always wanted to play a mmo and with wow classic table, no chance of returning to retail wow and the release date of the new world in a state of consistent uncertainty, there was really only one place to transform : Final Fantasy XIV Online.
I am obviously not the only person who recently picked up Final Fantasy XIV, while the game enjoys an overvoltage of interest and popularity. It’s easy to see why too, because so far, Final Fantasy XIV has been fantastic. Some parts of the game look like World of Warcraft Classic, but the similarities do not go very deeply. For someone who played Wow Classic, Final Fantasy XIV feels familiar enough to settle but different enough to always be exciting.
One of the things I like most things about Final Fantasy XIV is the fact that it takes a lot of anxiety to create a character. I am the type of person who will spend a decent morcan from watching videos on various game classes before I choose one. For example, in Wow Classic lead-up, I spent a lot of time thinking about what the class I wanted to play like my main, because it’s not something you can change after creating your character . If you want to play a different class, you have to make another character.
However, in Final Fantasy XIV, you are not locked to a class. Instead, you can change your class every time you just want by changing the weapon you have equipped. Of course, you still need to level each class individually, but you never have to stick to one. In addition, if you are like me and you appreciate the upgrade process in MMOs, the ability to move to classes and level new classes on a whim is actually something of a dream.
For example, nothing know at all on the courses, I chose Archer as my starting class in Final Fantasy XIV – you can see my character as a grass archer in the image below, actually. At level 30, the archer becomes a bar, a class that can sometimes have a very involved reactionary skill rotation that you need to be careful. I do not know if I’m going to stay with long term bacon, but for now, I roll with her to see if it pushes me on me, and I know that if it does not do it, I can try others classes without having to start from scratch.
It is a very relentless feeling for a person who is used to the rigid class structure of Wow Classic where only some breeds can play like some classes, and when you choose a combo, that’s what you’re stuck with. Any race in Final Fantasy XIV can play any class in the game and, therefore, Final Fantasy XIV allows you to create the character you want rather than forcing you to create a character who can play during your choice.
Another thing I love at Final Fantasy XIV is the focus on history. I have not done a reborn kingdom and prepare to dive into expansions, but so far, I like what I’ve seen from history. Like any JRPG, there are low points and high-level points, but I’m glad that Final Fantasy XIV focuses on the point of view where you feel like you’re playing a regular RPG as And as your way through the main line.
The more I am in this game, the more it opens, the more clearly it becomes clear what it is good. Now that I am at the end of a reborn kingdom and facing the Fantasy Final XIV three (soon four) expansions, I’m more and more excited to get my first class at the level cap, finish the main story, and start new classes.
The Final Fantasy XIV community also deserves a special crime. I do not know if I have already met an online community that is as welcoming as Final Fantasy XIV. When I plunge into a new mmo (or simply a new game in general) and I learn my way around the mechanics, you risk slowing the other people from my group, but each veteran player I met was very useful, patient and understanding. As you do not see that often in online communities these days.
Overall, I am very impressed by the Fantastic XIV final so far. I’m shocked that I like the match as much as me, because at first, I started playing in the Final Fantasy XIV as a way to kill the time. While I certainly plan to spend time in the new world and losing the ark when these games are finally released, Final Fantasy XIV Online could be my main game for a long time.
