As of today, Google Map users will be able to find the nearest available spin bicycle or scooter available in real time. The application will also show how long it will take to walk to the vehicle in question, its battery rank and when you can expect to reach your destination when driving it.
Scooters will appear both in the Bicycle tab and in the public transport tab when looking for addresses. Although users will be able to find the nearest turning electronic vehicle with Google Maps, they will go to the Spin application to pay the vehicle and unlock it.
“With this integration, Spin makes it easier for millions of Google Map users to easily incorporate bicycles and scooters shared on their daily trips,” said the CEO of Spin Ben, in a press release.
Spin is not the only e-scooter company to collaborate with Google. In 2019, Google Maps integrates with Lime, the other large brand in this space. Google has worked with shared travel companies such as Uber and Lyft to include those transport options in their application as well. The rotation, on the other hand, is already integrated into other platforms such as CityMapper and Moovit.
Ford, who has a turn, says this function will be available in 84 cities, cities and campuses in the United States, Canada, Germany and Spain.
