Google Pixel 6 won’t ship with a charger in the box

The Google Pixel 6 will not be sent with a wall charger in the box, following the movements of Samsung and Apple falling to the load bricks to reduce electronic waste (and, of course, save on costs).

This is also going for the future Google phones, too, the Google Pixel 5th Just-Launch will be the last to launch with a wall charger in the box, as reported for the first time by the edge.

While that could mean that the pixel 6 arrives in a thinner box with nothing more than the phone, we assume that Google will include at least one charging and connection cable (probably USB-C to USB-C), as apple and Samsung. That allows the new owners to transfer through their data physically from the old phone to new, if they are adverse to wirelessly upload and download all their old applications and information.

Analysis: A world of telephones with a wall charger? Not quite

Of course, only because Google has joined two of the larger smartphone companies in ditch wall chargers does not mean they disappear. Even if other massive phonemes such as Xiaomi, OPPO, and Huawei must follow their example, people still need to connect their cables to the points of sale of walls.

That means that consumers will simply buy one after the market if they need it, either from priest or third party retailers. The phonemes would prefer that you buy yours, of course: Samsung affirms that ‘for the best performance and durability of the battery’, one must buy chargers that are “Samsung Genuine Products” on your Frequently Asked Questions page, but there are many options online.

Apple, Samsung, and Google’s reasoning to leave the charger makes some sense: those bricks can accumulate if they end up being redundant. He also serves changing consumer values, Samsung Mobile’s product management head in the UK Paul Scott told Techradar last year.

“Listening to our consumers who are doing much more, like us, sustainable options in their daily lives, and what we have to do is make sure we support that,” said Scott. “We do not want to be sending a consumer, another charger when it possibly has a charger, say, 2018 or seeing until 2017. It is a USB type C charger, so we are not changing”

Of course, that does not count all the story: Clear, Android phones have been using USB-C chargers for years, but its watt has shot since then. The Samsung Galaxy S8 2017 launched with a 15W charger in the box, while the peak 2021 Samsung Galaxy S21 to 25W, or, if you choose another phonemaker that actually keeps up with the rhythm of load speeds, can Get an ASUS ROG 5 with a 60W charger in a box, or one ONEPLUS 9 with a 65W brick.

ASUS and ONEPLUS WALL CHARGERS are optimized for your brands (and will charge your own phones faster than other companies), but you will still recharge the telephones that can take the wattage much faster than the oldest bricks. Google, Apple and Samsung can eliminate them from partial sustainability concerns, but consumers will still have to buy an updated charger if they want the fastest recharge speeds.
