Short introduction
Fischbacher Siegfried and Roy Uwe Ludwig Horn better known as “Siegfried and Roy” are two German wizards who conquer the world with their appearance. The White Tiger Performances at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas are one of the largest lotteries in the city for more than ten years, contributing to the boom.
In 2002 – a year before the show was canceled due to an accident – the two wizards produced around $ 52 million per year.
Early life
Siegfried Fischbacher comes from Rosenheim, where he still has a family. He began magic at the age of eight years. One motivation was to entertain his father, who had returned home with severe trauma from Soviet capaculate.
After graduating from school, Siegfried was originally trained as a weaver. Then he was attracted to Lake Garda, where he worked as a waiter. He used the opportunity to show the first magic trick in front of the guests.
In 1959 Siegfried was hired on the TS Bremen cruise ship, where he also worked as a waiter and magician.
Only so many are known about Roy’s young man that he attended elementary school in Blexen and that his father was also an alcoholic. He ended his school career at the age of 13 years and was employed as a page in TS Bremen.
Career
After Siegfried and Roy met in TS Bremen in 1960, they immediately appeared together in front of the passengers. The special feature of their show is the Cheetah show “Chico”, which was taken both despite the initial problem of the captain.
The show in TS Bremen was so successful that the first stage appearance was immediately followed. In 1963 they made guest appearances at the famous theater pharmaceutical Hansa. In 1964 they were shown at the Bremen Astoria theater. Due to great success, they ended their involvement in TS Bremen this year and began a major European tour.
The spotlight of the tour was a show at Monte Carlo, where they caused enthusiasm with Gracia Patricia’s daughter – aka Grace Kelly. Appearance attracts international attention.
Siegfried and Roy first appeared in Las Vegas in 1966. The show in “Tropicana” was very popular so the influential casino owner Frank Rosenthal helped them engage in Stardust hotels in Las Vegas in 1970.
There two glowed for two years at the “Lido de Paris” event, who gave them the “best show this year” award. After a short guest appearance in “Americana” in Puerto Rico, they returned to Las Vegas in 1974, where they caused a sensation at the “Hollywood Hallelujah” at the MGM Grand Hotel.
From 1978 to 1981 Siegfried and Roy back was a “Lido de Paris” performance at Stardust Hotel, even though with better requirements. This time the event was advertised with his name on the billboard. He also made his contract among the wizards paid off the highest in the history of Las Vegas.
From 1981 to 1988, Siegfried and Roy appeared for the first time at their own event at the “New Frontier” hotel in Las Vegas. Until then, they offered a unique audience magic trick under the title “Beyond Belief”.
In 1988/89, they prepared a new show for Mirage hotels in Las Vegas, which they had recorded $ 57.5 million per year.
The show ran until the accident in 2003 when Roy was bitten by tigers during the show. A serious injury Roy continued to end the career of the legendary magician duo.

Apart from the record number, the Mirage Hotel event is also an artistic spotlight of Siegfried and Roy’s development. Many amazing tricks are only made possible by the fact that the theater was built especially for both performances. Production costs are $ 50 million and the annual fee is $ 25 million. The soundtrack of this event was compiled by Michael Jackson. The typical feature of the event is 27 white tigers, which is on stage with Siegfried and Roy.
